  • Penelitian ini mengenai pengaruh media tanam hidroponik dengan sistem sumbu terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.), yang telah dilaksanakan pada Maret 2016 hingga Mei 2016 di kebun Kartini Fakultas Pertanian dan Bisnis Universitas Satya Wacana, kota Salatiga dengan ketinggian tempat ± 578 meter di atas permukaan laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1.) Mengetahui pengaruh media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) dan 2.) Mengetahui media tanam terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah a.) Berbagai macam media tanam secara hidroponik berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) dan b.) Media tanam spons (floral foam) akan menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang terbaik pada tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.). Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan sembilan perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) 5%. Ukuran tiap petak 30 cm x 45 cm dengan jarak tanam 15 cm x 15 cm. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa: 1.) media tanah, bata kasar, bata halus, cocopeat, pasir, arang sekam, arang kayu, floral foam dan serbuk gergaji berpengaruh terhadap perbedaan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, umur panen, berat segar tanaman, berat kering tanaman, berat segar akar dan berat kering akar. 2.) media tanam dengan wick system yang baik untuk menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L) varietas tosakan adalah media tanam cocopeat dan arang sekam.
  • This research introduced the effect of various hydroponic planting media with wick system to the growth and production of mustard plant (Brassica juncea L.), was conducted from March 2016 to May 2016. This research took place at Kebun Kartini, Faculty of Agriculture and Bussiness, Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga with altitude ± 578 meters above the sea level. The purposes of this research are 1.) to know the effect of various ways of hydroponics planting media and 2.) to determine the best media to the growth and production of mustard (Brassica juncea L.). The hypothesis are a.) Various hydroponic planting media affect the result of the growth and yeld of mustard plant (Brassica juncea L.) and b) The floral foam will produce the best growth and production of mustard (Brassica juncea L.). This research was based on a completely block randomized design (CBRD) with nine treatments and three replications. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and tested further by Honestly Significant Difference test (HSD) 5 % . The size of each plot was 30 cm x 45 cm with 15 cm x 15 cm space. The results showed that 1.) various ways of planting media, such as: soil, smooth brick, rough brick, cocopeat, sand, husk charcoal, wood charcoal, floral foam and sawdust affected the result of the plant’s height, number of leaves, time of harvest, the fresh weight of plant, dry weight of plants, the fresh weight of roots and dry weight of root and 2) the best hydroponic planting media with wick system to the growth and yeld of mustard plant (Brassica juncea L) var.
