- The help movie had background America in 1960s, where still happen racial discrimination towards black people. Especially for the black people workers, who worked with the white people. At the era physical abuse was less than year 1800s.Movie is a media to educate, to entertain, to inform, and to influence. This study discuss about rasial discrimination in The Help movie. The aim of this study is to find the meaning of racial act and racial symbols who did by white people towards black people. The study use semiotics method by Roland Barthes to analyze the data.After through analyze, the data has conclusion that black people is not have physical abuse anymore, but physically. Such as, slur dan harassment in verbally. They have limitation in their activities, cannot close to white people, have special toilet, borders in public transportation and entrance. The also have limitation in social dan their jobs, and its wrote on law, in Jackson, Mississippi. Which is the discrimination be help in the name of law
