Daftar Isi:
- The background of this research is a low mathematics learning achievement in fourth grade students of SD 1 Gondangmanis. It caused by: (1) the learning process is teacher-centered, (2) students has low attention to the subject when teaching and learning activities take place, (3) students are less enthusiastic to do task, (4) The students are not cooperative with share ideas to others, (5) the student's responsibility to a task yet to be seen. This research aims to improve mathematics learning achievement, student learning activities, teacher’s skills in managing learning in applying Numbered Head Together model in mathematics objects and flat shape symmetric. Numbered Head Together learning model is a type of cooperative learning that is designed to influence the pattern of students interaction and as an alternative to the traditional classroom structure by each student is numbered and made of a group, then randomly, the teacher calls a number of students. Hypothesis proposed is the implementation of Numbered Head Together learning model can improve mathematics learning achievement, students learning activities and teachers skills in managing learning material material objects and flat shape symmetric in fourth grade in SD 1 Gondangmanis. This research is class room action research conducted in the fourth grade in SD 1 Gondangmanis Kudus with the subjects are 21 students and conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisted of two meetings. The independent variable in this research is Numbered Head Together learning models, while the dependent variable is the Mathematics learning achievement with the material Objects and flat shape symmetric. The method of collecting data are observation, interviews, tests and documentation. Data obtained from the actions were analyzed by quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that there were improvement in mathematics learning achievement (cognitive aspect) in the first cycle with average score was 67.86 with classical completeness 57.14%, and the second cycle, the average score increased to 78.75 with classical completeness 85%. The average score of learning activities (affective and psychomotor) mathematics students also increased, in the first cycle was 26 with a percentage 64% categorized good and second cycle increased to 30 with the percentage was 77% categorized good. Average score of teachers' skills in managing the learning process in cycle I was 39 categorized good and second cycles increased to 47 categorized good. The conclusions of this research is the implementing Number head together learning models can improve mathematics learning achievement, students learning activities and teachers skills in managing mathematics learning process with the material are Objects and flat shape symmetric in the fourth grade students in SD 1 Gondangmanis. Suggestions in this research, students should not be allowed to be individuals in a group task. All group members must be involved. For teachers should be mastered a wide variety of learning models from several references, while from books, internet and others so in presenting the material, the teacher not only explain but students are also involved in the learning process. For schools, Numbered Head Together learning models need to be socialized to be used as an alternative in the study of mathematics to improve mathematics learning achievement .
