  • The Corona Virus Disease (Covid19) pandemic has changed all systems from various sectors. The education sector is no exception, where the learning process is usually carried out directly during a pandemic, the learning process must be carried out remotely (online learning). Therefore, sudden system updates cause various problems and obstacles in this online learning process. One of the obstacles and constraints is student learning motivation. Based on that, this research aims to determine students' learning motivation, especially in English subjects when online learning takes place. cResearchers collect data using observation and interviews. In addition, researchers also analyzed the data to find out the results of the research. This research is based on a qualitative case study. The results of this research indicate that students' learning motivation in English subjects is inconsistent, where students' learning motivation is influenced by their mood. In connection with this, the researcher suggests that students can control their moods, when the mood is not good, it is hoped that students can continue to follow the lesson well because students' moods can affect the learning process. Students must continue to increase their motivation and enthusiasm for learning English, and never feel satisfied with what they are getting now. It is also expected that teachers can understand the mood of students, teachers can do small games or exercises on the material to restore the mood of students during the learning process. Finally, this research is expected to be a reference for further researchers who examine students' learning motivation.
