- The present research is focused on the searches that are made by the users in the automated catalogue of an academic library and on the fact that behavioral elements of both the users and the system can be brought out. Using the term "search" is defining the whole course of the research that has been made by a user. Is being set the course and the ways of the search, the procedure of choosing from the produced results, the frequency of the searches etc. In order this information to be exploited for the evaluation and the melioration of the provided services, it was saw fit to make a combination with the users' academic profile. This profile is sketched in its main characteristics by a properly developed questionnaire. As it comes out from the first results of the research, the statistical process and analysis using the Methods of Data Analysis, can lead partially to users' clustering but also to basic evaluation of the system having always as an upper purpose the provided services' melioration. Therefore, with the present essay a description of the users' attitude through the electronic services and specifically the online catalogue is being attempted.
