- The Book and Reading Observatory in Extremadura is a pioneering initiative of the Extremaduran Reading Pact, that began working at the end of 2004 and is carried out by the Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation in order to monitoring the development of a reading society in this region, in which the public library plays a main role, guaranteeing citizens the access to reading. In this poster the origins, objectives and characteristics of the Observatory are explained.
