- This paper aims to draw attention to the IFLA’s conceptual model of Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) that enables us to represent intellectual or artistic works in library catalogs more efficiently. Based on the entity-relationship (E-R) model of database systems, the FRBR conceptual model introduces a new approach to the creation of bibliographic records in library catalogs. The FRBR model, which has yet to be discussed in Turkey, is of interest to Turkish libraries as well.
