- The Spanish university is immersed in a process of change attending to the guidelines of the European Space of Higher Education. The university libraries play an important role in this change as a service to the teaching and research. They feel themselves obliged to analyze their functions and services. Particularly, users training is an expanding service, that is seen as an improvement in the library evaluation processes, a field of study and research (both content and form) and as a new kind of relation with the university community in general. Libraries should adapt their traditional user education methods to the new concept of "teaching information literacy”, using new tools, for which it is needed also an adaptation and an attitude change of the library staff. Internet has changed from being a referral and information tool to be also a training tool. The library of the University of Málaga, in the framework of the Plan FORUS (Users Training Plan), carries out the training of its users in a virtual way, being this one of its strategic actions which has a space in the virtual Campus of the University. In this communication this initiative is presented, with the new learning methods integrated in the users education programme, tutor functions, communication tools, and user or student motivations. .
