- The report concerns the problems of changes in organization of work of university libraries of chosen countries of the European Union in terms of possibilities of the Internet. The application of the Internet to the libraries has made it possible to present in large collections of books to the greater number of readers by means of online catalogues. The given phenomenon has provided a setting for the demonstration of changes in preferences of its users. The growing interest in the Internet entails doing services of a new kind in respect of library information. It also allows for quick library preparation as well as retrospective conversion of catalogues.
