  • Today, the importance of informational competences, which include technological abilities for the biomedical professionals is acknowledged, due fundamentally to their function as mediators in the learning process along life and the practice of the medicine based on evidence, foci that intend, in last instance, to contribute to a medical attention of excellence. In the published literature, experiences in the identification, normalization, evaluation and development of the informational competences are reflected, although a marked emphasis in its technological component is perceived. From the analysis of the registered literature, fundamentally in the PubMED database, the evolution of the processing of these competences, as well as concrete experiences in different countries, in the dimensions of identification, normalization, evaluation and formation could be verified.
