  • . Ontology: an interaction zone between Linguistics and Documentation. In the present work the start point is the vague use of the words “ontology”, “knowledge base”, “lexical database”, "computational lexicon" and “thesaurus” in the specialized bibliography, where we find confused references to these linguistic resources. The article is structured in three parts. First, the relations between Linguistics and Documentation (Information Science) based on the language as a common element in both disciplines. We also present/display the concept of reusability and the complexity of the language as an object to be computer processed. In the second part, there is a description of the different linguistic resources including, in the section of lexical data bases, the analysis of WordNet, a linguistic resource which interpretation and use is a source of multiple ambiguities. In the third, the applicability of the linguistic resources to the Documentation appears. Finally we expose conclusions and future research perspectives. .
