- The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, as every other Spanish university right now, is undertaking the process to adapt itself to the new European Space of Education, based on self-learning and development of the students’ competences. In this context, there have been some major investments in digital library and we have created our own Deposit of Digital Documents (DDD) for the Libraries Service. To implement a unique deposit for different kinds of materials, topics and even formats, we have chosen the utility CDS Invenio (known before as CDSware), which has the particularity of having MARC21 as its native bibliographic format, so that it has a great flexibility in resources description and a very precise search capacity. We’ll describe the procedures followed (problem identification, program selection, coordination, maintenance management, calendar...) with the aim of reaching conclusions that can be helpful for similar initiatives.
