- The reading represents a fundamental activity in the formation and transmission of the knowledge. The habits of reading and book purchase, respond to socieconomicas, cultural and political variables that are reflected of a concept of cultural legitimacy that the surveys put in prohibition. In this contribution the factors that take part in the formation and development of both variables, as well as the sources are analyzed that give faith of them.
