- State of the art on the standardization of local history Spanish journals is presented through a sample of 87 journals covered by ISOC database. The institutional and geographical context for the journals is described. Moreover an evaluation model based on formal quality criteria as the periodicity, editorial life, standardization and other indicators measuring the quality of contents in an indirect way is applied: editorial board’s composition, peer review, papers from foreign authors and international visibility. Main methodological aspects and results from the application of quality indicators to the local history journals are mentioned.
