- This paper presents the dilemma of making a decision during the process of selection and acquisition of informational resources. Considering the large volume of information published nowadays by the information market,it highlights that, despite having a considerable amount of possible bibliographies variables to be worked with, there is no methodology able to provide a good level of accuracy about which informational items are more suitable to attend a group of users. With this large volume of information around, the internet, instead of being used in a dynamic form, is rather being used in a static form by librarians. Hence we propose that through the technology of XML joined with the practicability of MS-Excel; this dynamic tool can be used to obtain bibliographies and commercial variables from electronic databases necessary for making faster and reliable decisions to acquire the best materials to support the needs of courses offered by a faculty.
