- The ISO 15489 Records Management Standard establishes the general principles for the records management in the organizations and provides a methodology for the design and implementation of a records system. This standard is related to the quality standards (family ISO 9000) which define the requirements for the introduction of a quality management system and which promote the adoption of a process-based approach. The records management is a support business process characterized by its crosswise dimension and because it is orientated to the customers (both internal and external). For this reason, the records management procedures are an essential part of the process system of an organization and concern the company as a whole.
