- This article defines bibliographic reference management programmes as document management systems and describes the programmes that the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) has acquired recently: EndNote 8, ProCite 5, Reference Manager 11 and WriteNote 1.6. The authors discuss possible applications and propose criteria for the choice of a programme based on user needs, either individually or as a group. Also covered are the activities and services offered by the Terrassa Campus library for promoting knowledge and use of these products among those university members that teach and perform research.
