- The document introduces to the key organization elements used in the automation project for the library of the Biology Institute of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (unam). The project focused in the creation of the information electronic service, as a tool for users’ information searching and retrieval in the Botany and Zoology areas. The utilization of the digital format as an extension of the library collections as a tool for cooperation among unam libraries is also described.
