- The paper presents the theory of learning organization including the description of an academic library implementing learning processes and organizational improvements. A few factors supporting learning processes in academic libraries are also pointed out in the study. Individual, group and organizational learning processes play a dominant role in transforming librarians into knowledge workers, which stimulate the academic library to considerable improvements in the quality of service. Furthermore, these factors help in satisfying various information demands. Permanent learning and development process as well as knowledge and experience allow librarians and information specialists to link modern trends with traditional methods of solving problems.
