- The article presents the idea of creative thinking, which could be implemented in the academic library in processes like problem solving, decision making, strategic planning, marketing activities, public relation and communication with users. There are characterized factors that could disturb or support librarians in creative thinking. Important role of the organizational culture in this field is also pointed out in the study. There are described several methods of creative thinking which could be used in the academic library and listed skills which should characterize creative management of this organization. Creative thinking could be an effective method of problem solving in a daily work and a very useful tool for management of the academic library.
