- A model for application of bibliometric techniques for the selection of serial publications with the objective to build a list of possibly relevant titles. It also discuss the vantages to use this techniques to diagnose user library’s needs and explains results of applying the proposed model on the selection of texts for Tropical Medicine and Parasitology, and Immunochemistry collections (Chagas’ Disease, Paludism; Leishmaniasis; Toxoplasmosis). A provisional list of 25 relevant publications was obtained in this study, being of potential interest to users at the Bibliographic Center for Endemic Diseases (CERIDE) and INDIECH. Restrictions and advantages of the selection model implemented were also analyzed, recommending its evaluation by other libraries.
