- A biographical synthesis of Nicolás José Gutiérrez Hernández, founder of "Repertorio Médico Habanero", title of the first Cuban medical journal specialized in medicine that began to circulate for first time in November, 1840, is offered. Some aspects of this publication regarding content, format, pagination and frequency are specified. Some results of a brief bibliometric analysis considering author, article average, and the most managed topics, among other indicators, are presented. A bibliographic inventory containing the references of all the papers published in "Repertorio Médico Habanero" since it began, in 1840, till it disappeared, in 1843 is also presented. Value is added to this bibliography on incorporating an annotation to each quotation with a brief description of the content of all the papers and of the auxiliary codes by author and topic in order to facilitate the quick access to every original article. This bibliographic inventory will put at the disposal of doctors, health managers, information professionals, historians and other interested persons a useful reference work on the annals and content of this relic of Cuban medical bibliography.
