- This research project seeks to propose a model for the collection and analysis of information that permits the direct population from the University of Antioquia to identify the level of access, knowledge and use they have of the specialized tools of Internet. To the creation of this model a literature review is made on the current context of our society from the perspective of its characterization as a society of information and knowledge; it is created a synthesis of the Internet tools that fits in the profile which supports the academic, scientific, professional and cultural aspects of the University of Antioquia population (networked knowledge management); finally, by assessing similar research projects, it proposes a specific model at the University of Antioquia which might be useful as well for other universities considering the scarcity of research on this area. The creation of this model is a first stage, it will continue with its actual application, and accordingly to its results for the decision making in both, the technological aspects (Informational Infrastructure) and the training aspect (Informational Infostructure), and thus, to cope with the issues of the digital divide and the informational iliteracy, in order to reach a better informational level that helps to diminish the underdevelopment of Colombia (Informatioanl Sociostructure) through adequate governmental and institutional policies.
