- This paper summarized the designing and implementation of a metadata application profile derived from multi metadata standards and specifications for CHINESE CULTURAL CELEBRITIES' MANUSCRIPTS LIBRARY (CCCML). After an introduction to the general considerations, principles, procedure approaches and characteristics of the resources, the metadata application profile composed of core elements and their qualifiers have been given in detail. Then, we explained the system functional requirements, metadata encoding schema and the rules and schemes for cataloging, as well as the authority control consideration. At last, a few common issues in designing metadata application profile have been concluded.
