- A overview of the moments in which the medical reference works regarded as the basis of the present database and electronic resources available because the new technologies of communication and information is offered. The content of this type of documents considered relevant outdoors as well as those that took part of the history of Cuban Medical bibliography systematization is quoted and explained. This article is aimed at acknowledging the work of those people that become precursors of electronic format reference works that are an important part of health virtual library and also to give another possibilities to widen the culture of information professionals and advise them to give more and better services.
