- This article gives an overview of the present state of the web presence of public libraries in the Castile & Leon Autonomous Region, Spain. Based on the premise both that all public libraries are information tools at the service of their users and they must have an increasing presence on the Internet, our analysis consists of finding out how important the Internet is for these libraries and what kind of information they provide. To carry out this study three library types were established examining for each type the characteristics of the information they provide on their web pages and their presence on the net.
