- A group of practical, conceptual, and theorical elements related to the establishment of a bibliographic system able to fullfil the specific requirements that demands the development of virtual libraries in the conditions of Cuban University libraries network development is exposed. The procedures to obtain catalographic records of full text journals processed in Infotrac database, a Gale group information service with access to 3 000 scientific and technical journals which are very useful in the university environment are described. The bibliographic format was analyzed taking into account the recomendations of the IFLA study regarding functional requirements of bibliographic records. The described procedures allow the prevalent generation of fulltext journals catalographic records of "added services" by means of copying catalogaion successfully applied inside the University libraries network for monographies cataloguing using Internet resources. The procedures not only included the data conversion among different structures but also the data element decodification, the translation of english phrases to spanish languaje, and the addition of data elements for the acomplishment of bibliographic format functions.
