- The Cuban universities become more and more research centers, at the present time more of 50% of the investigation developed in Cuba is made in the Institutions of High Education(IES). In 2001 a group of IES received 56% of the national grants from the Academy of Sciences of Cuba, 55% of the national prizes of innovation and 14 important international prizes. In the IES assigned to the Ministry of High Education (MONTH), it is begun to develop a culture of work in network, cradle in intranets that opens new and varied perspective to the traditional concepts of bibliographical securing, in relation to the active paper of the student in his management search of the information. The present work describes the strategy of the IES assigned to the MONTH for the computerization of the high education which is based on the creation of Personal Libraries of work (BPT), its publication in the Intranet, the use of the electronic mail and data bases accessible to full text from the WWW.
