- The production behavior of scientific papers from Matanzas, published in 24 Cuban national medical journals during the term from 1980 to 1994 is analized. The charts of contents of the journals were reviewed and the papers conducted by physicians and paramedic staff that practice in separate units of the province were localized. In 15 years, 142 papers of Matanzas authors were published, and within the 1980-1988 period, they were able to do so 129 times, while in the 1989- 1994 period there were only published 13 articles. It is appreciated that hospitals were the units that published the most; that the Cardiology and Gineco-Obstetrics specialties were the ones which provide more papers and that predominated the average of 3 authors by article.
