- Starting with an analysis of globalization, the author discusses the role of information society in the building of a global society based on common good. He debates mainly the problem of the telecommunications and their relationship with the market, the need of a regulation for the area, the Internet, the promotion and strength of the public domain, besides issues such as as competitiveness and public interest. The role of UNESCO in the information society as well as the search of a humanist meaning for the globalization process are also discussed.
