- Challenges of the Centers of European Documentation. The Centers of European Documentation comprise of one of the old alert networks created by the European Commission like part of their policy of informative approach to the citizen on the activities of the European Union. Most of the Centers of European Documentation already were active when the concept of alert networks was formulated from Brussels. At the present time there are approximately about 400 Centers of European Documentation.
