- The necessity to promote instruments of access to the information (bibliographical, textual, graphical, factual...) of environmental character, like an inescapable necessity of the own dynamics of this sector of the information and by the increasing tendency to the citizen participation in environment subjects has caused that some centers of environmental documentation are created the present Center of Environmental Documentation of the MOPTMA 2, has its origin in the in environment specialized library that was created in the Center the International of Formation in Ciencias Ambientales (CIFCA), project of the Program of Nations United for the Environment been in Madrid from 1976 to 1983. Since then their bibliographical collections were transferred to the Main directorate of Environment of the MOPU
