  • The committee of the Ifla, Library Serving Disadvantaged Persons, has written up new directives on libraries for hospital patients: For Guidelines libraries serving hospital patients and the elderly and disabled in long-term care facilities/written up by the work group coordinated by Nancy Mary Panella, under the auspices of the Section of services librarians for the discapacitadas people. These directives are based partly on the 1984 edition and are a document that serves as base to create a library for hospital patients, is of the own institution or with the help of other external organizations as it could be the public library. The central part of the document is General Recommendations of ideal levels on watch, that can selectively be used based on the necessities and resources of each institution, as it indicates the work document.
