- The following reflection has like reference the experience of ten years of the Department of Culture and Libraries of the Equalization fund of Comfenalco Antioquia with the creation and benefit of the Local Information service. In the first part the pertinencia is sustained and validity to consider essential the Local Information services like in the conception and materialization of the function of the public libraries like social institutions, in the second part, emphasizes the commitment with the citizenship formation and in third the challenges and implications of the Local Information services for the public libraries appear.
