- On June 18, 2015, Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato si' was published. It was his second encyclical, after Lumen fidei, despite the fact that it was largely written by his predecessor, Benedict XVI. Thus, it can be considered that Laudato si' is the first encyclical drafted in its entirety by Francis.
