  • Questions about cultural heritage have been widely discussed both because of the expansion of concepts related to heritage and those related to culture. Cartographic maps of historic farms are considered essential for guaranteeing the historicity of coffee farms since they record the divisions of land and, especially, the wrapping areas of their properties, such as the headquarters, colonies and buildingssupporting rural work. These plants bring, sometimesin a not very explicit way, the existence of springs and water bodies in the territory. Due to the need to recover the historical and cultural patrimony of the coffee farms in the interior of São Paulo, the objective of the research is to propose a model of documentary representation of cartographic maps of historical farms, with a view to their consolidation as cultural heritage, taking Consideration the descriptive, cultural, spatio-temporal and ideological characteristics. As a method, elements predicted in the documentary analysis of digital imagery resources with a focus on the ranganathian faceted analysis (personality, matter, energy, space and time) for the description of the imagery and symbolic expression of cartographic maps that bring together cultural, historical and artistic issues ofrural areas. As a result, a model for Documentary Representation of Cartographic Maps of Historic Farms is presented, which allows its preservation as cultural patrimony, as well as the access and recovery with the use of eleven metadata, as elements of documentary representation, namely: Title, Creation Responsibility, Editing, Edition Responsibility, Date, Physical Description, Cultural Description, Spatio-temporal Description, Keywords, Location Data, References.
