  • In Information Science, studies in the field of Organization and Information Representation link the relationship between documents and communities served by the information units. In this sense, considering the LGBTQ community, it is questioned what research has been developed on the subject in the area of Information Science. The research, with the objective of mapping the national and international academic and scientific production in Information Science on the LGBTQ + theme, is justified by the fact that they involve aspects inherent in representation and access to information, as well as those related to use studies and information users. In order to carry out this survey, four platforms were chosen: BENANCIB, BRAPCI, NDLTD and SciELO. Data were collected between September 2017 and July 2018. Key words were used in English, Portuguese and Spanish in order to broaden the reach of the search results. It is concluded that studies related to the subject are still scarce in the area (28 documents retrieved) and that, among the authors, stand out: Fabio Assis Pinho, Francisco Arrais Nascimento and José Augusto Chaves Guimarães.
