- It focuses on the analysis of articles on cataloging in Brazilian scientific journals, from 1998 landmark in the area before the publication of Functional Require�ments work for Bibliographical Records (FRBR). The clipping of scientific journals was done considering the layers B1, B2 and B3 in the Qualis, defined ac�cording to criteria that guide the perfor-mance and the judgment of graduate programs in Brazil. It was de�cided to analyze the articles, with cataloging studies in Brazilian scientific journals, with strata Qualis B1, B2 and B3, from 1998 to 2013. With Qualiquantitative approach, research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive and uses is directed to the documentary and bibliographical research, to study theoretical framework, to form, to collect data, and content anal�ysis, to define the thematic relevance. Theoretical aspects of cataloging were studied, identified scien�tific journals and articles, according stratification crite�ria of suitability to the area and thematic relevance. As a result it was observed that, despite the increase by 600% in publishing articles on cataloging the Bra�zilian scientific journals, they do not sit apre�correlation with the publication of FRBR, and focus on Ontology, Organization of Infor-mation and Metadata.
