  • Aims: First, to gain insights into the perceptions and evaluations of the university community (faculty and students) of the incorporation and presence of the gender and LGBTI+ perspective in the teaching of undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media at the University of Barcelona; second, to promote the incorporation of the gender perspective in the subjects on the degrees through the design and development of teaching instruments and materials together with the teaching staff. Methods: This participatory action research was designed to promote critical reflection and social transformation inside the classroom. The data were collected from eight focus groups with students and teachers, participant observation, and a participatory workshop for the creation of teaching materials with teachers. Results: There is widespread support for the incorporation of the gender perspective, although significant barriers to its implementation remain. Among the teaching staff, these barriers are mainly related to the lack of training or institutional recognition. For their part, students value and appreciate the incorporation of the gender perspective but continue to observe major limitations and call for a more determined, more crosssectional introduction.
