- The main objective of this article is to analyze the metric properties of an instrument to evaluate the self-perceived informational competence by university students and, additionally, it seeks to expose the relationship of the latent variables that make up the CIA from a Structural equation modeling (SEM). The research was approached from a quantitative cut methodology of instrumental design. The total sample was 2,189 university students from public and private centers in the state of Sonora, Mexico. The main results of the study indicate that there is a relevant and consistent instrument. The various statistical tests and analyzes made it possible to identify and evaluate the suitability of the latent and observed variables that make up the proposed model.
