- Thanks to the donation in life of Francisco Pérez Bayer, the library of the Universitat de València became one of the most important libraries in Spain. The site of Suchet and the bombing of the city in 1812 would suppose the destruction of great part of the same one, a destruction that, nevertheless, does not seem to have been so absolute as their contemporaries assured.
