- This work makes an introduction to usability in the web information design framework. Analyses different techniques tipology proposals, and their application in development and evaluation of web sites. A generic framework for usability methods application is proposed, to apply in particular context of activity.Internet can be considered as a major source of scientific and health information.The growing of the medical sites makes necessary to develop specialiced tools in order to facilitate health professionals to obtain reliable information in a fast and easy way. Althought there are a great deal of medical gateways, directories and search engines, these tools do not permit doctors to obtain a clear picture of the resources available as they can obtain using a web resources database. The objective of this communication is to describe the characteristic and performance of the web resource database of the Biblioteca Médica Virtual del COMV and to explore the existence of similar resources. The main features of the database are described: Contex and producers. Resource collection. Criteria of resource filteriring and selection. Description an indexing search capabilities. Also some other simmilar initiatives are commented.
