- Digital collections risk to be isolated and non-integrated material in the documental offer of institutions if are not put on use integration strategies to constitute digital libraries, offering access to the different kinds of materials in the landscape of electronic resources. This paper illustrates a project for the realisation of a national platform of access to Open Archives, one of the most recent kind of digital collections. While their architecture is based on proved technologies, open problems are those related to sharing documents policies, metadata shape, author’s rights management and protection. To solve those problems a national cooperation initiative is needed, forcing to collaborate all stakeholders, from researchers to managers to publishers, even if the invitation is for librarians, too, since they are the main experts in the field of digital documents problems.
