- A case study focused on the reinterpretation that the artist Alán Gómez makes of the private archive of the criminal lawyer Javier Viera Múnera, found in an antique shop in the city of Medellín, precedes a critical analysis on the relationship between art and archive. The use of creative art strategies is highlighted when challenging and renewing the way of recording, storing and transmitting archived information. It will be shown that the selection, description, classification and analysis tasks that the artist does about the social situations contained in the archive, promote a different vision of the time of the information. Through art, the common representation of the archive as a neutral and static entity is questioned.
