  • The internet with its tools such as social networks and video channels has become an important support in higher education and also in medical sciences. Within this context, it is important to know the level of student satisfaction with the pedagogical proposals and methods implemented by the teachers. Objective: To establish the level of satisfaction of the students of the Obstetrics career, with the use of the YouTube video channel, in the learning of basic and clinical subjects. Subjects and method: Enrolled students who regularly attend classes in the first and fourth semesters of the Obstetrics career - Central University of Ecuador. The standardized responses of a satisfaction survey were evaluated using the SPSS statistical program. Results and conclusions: A positive and convenient degree of satisfaction was found about the use of videos through the YouTube channel, as a learning support instrument, therefore that these platforms should be used to disseminate educational videos and encourage their use. We recommend doing prospective cohort studies to assess the impact of educational videos on the learning process.
