On the other hand, a search strategy with specific selection criteria was designed for the recovery of digital infor-mation to guarantee the validity and reliability of the literature examined.Results/Discusion: A critical and reflexive analysis was formed, which made it possible to elucidate in-formation skills as essential for the academic perfor-mance of university teachers, facilitating the manage-ment of information in digital environments. On the other hand, the participation of international organi-zations and the university library in the development of actions in favor of an informational culture of teach-ers was recognized. Conclusions: The continuous training of university teachers should be oriented more towards the devel-opment of information skills due to the context gen-erated by the Information Society. The training and promo-tion of these competencies in its cloister is largely up to the universities.Originality/Value: The inquiry differs by addressing informational competencies from continuing educa-tion, with a view to improving the teaching and re-search of university professors.
