- Considering the institutionalization of the document, it is intended to explore the contributions of the studies on "information validation", particularly on "information quality", as a subsidy to understand that phenomenon, which implies, among other aspects, criteria for selection and insertion of the information materialized in information systems. To this end, an initial search was made in a national and international database, through which it allowed the mapping on the subject, as well as the delimitation of the corpus and the identification of criteria in the scope of information quality. It was observed that the studies on information quality contribute to the investigation of the institutionalization of materialized information, because they bring criteria of informational value with comprehensive multidimensionality, being directly related to other aspects present in the scope of the validation of the information, among which political dimensions, social, cultural.
