- Our knowledge of the libraries of religious orders in Andalusia is quite deficient due to the scarcity of the sources that we have and the little attention that scholars have devoted to it. The laboriousness of these works, which can collect hundreds or even thousands of books, often discourages researchers. Although there is no global study on the history of these libraries in Andalusia, we have more and more studies that bring us closer to their reality, beyond the mere quantification of their holdings, and allow us to complete our vision of them. In this work we show the evolution of the libraries of the monastic orders in Andalusia.
