- The ultimate objective of the work we present is to contribute to the knowledge and reconstruction of the immense bibliographic and cultural legacy represented by the Spanish and American Jesuit libraries through a web page that facilitates all the searches to which we have mentioned and that can be a place of meeting and a point of reference at the service of research on the subject. Eagerness that is part of the appreciable effort in recent years to bring institutional libraries out of oblivion, to “break the silence” in which until very recently they were plunged. We are at the beginning of the project. We hope to provide a useful tool for the study of Jesuit libraries whose number, volume of copies and published material, increasingly abundant, have been demanding it.
