- Robbery is a serious problem in libraries. Thereforethe investigation in anti-robbery magnetic systems isnecessary. They must be cost-effective. Despite thesesystems, some users learn how to avoid the detectionby removing the magnetic strip. We propose a newmethod. It consists of putting aleatory a number —from zero to three— of strips. So the user is notcertain of having removed all the ships of the book,which causes uncertainty and avoids the robbery. Inits implementation we use aleatory number tablesand/or a systematic sampling. Likewise, this methodhas been proved in the reference section of theBiblioteca Pública del Estado-Provincial de Córdoba,with a decrease in the disappearances of books.
